What changes have you experienced?

 

You may have experienced changes to your:

  • roles
  • relationships with others including family and friends
  • financial status
  • housing
  • parenting roles if children are involved

Some of the changes may be positive such as the end of fights and arguments, or abuse. But many of the changes will be associated with loss.

We respond to change and loss with grief. Grief is a process of adjustment which affects us physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.  We have to take steps to heal, being actively involved in the process of grieving, rather than pretending it is not happening. To heal from grief we have to understand something of its nature.
